Did you say “video”? Yes ! Video !!
These holidays, I happened to teach crochet to a few people, and god, how easier is it to SHOW something rather than to explain it with words? Sometimes, images are far better then a long story (especially for me who isn’t a native English speaker I have to say ^^). That’s why I’ve decided to bring that to the blog from now on :)
To begin with, I had a few questions about Tinycorn’s nose which is made by crocheting around a chain : how to crochet around a chain (in the next video) and how to avoid the tiny holes in the middle of the nose.
I’m going to answer to this second question : we don’t learn to crochet the right way !
Ahah, this might seam presumptuous said like that, but no, really, as many of you, I’ve learned to crochet in the middle of the little “v’s” of the chain… .
It does work ! Yet, the other way is far nicer ! It takes a bit of practice at first, but it’s not that hard !
Here is the solution : you have to crochet in the little bumps behind the v’s.
Now you’re happy I’ve talked about a “video” aren’t you? :D
Here it is, my first ever video tutorial ^^ :
I chose not to talk in my videos for 2 main reasons :
- I really don’t like the sound of my voice :D
- This blog is bilingual and it wasn’t practical for me at all (plus, I have a terrible English accent :p)
Please feel free to tell me what you think about the video, I love criticism as I’m convinced it’s the best way to improve oneself !
Say goodbye to the ugly little holes you get when you crochet in the back of a chain (which now looks exactly the same as the front)
And goodbye to that stiff chain, smaller then the rest of the work !
PS : Sorry for the long month without posting anything ! If you follow me on Facebook, you know that these holidays have been filled with family problems. Thanks a lot for all your nice messages, and see you very soon :)
